Dear Italy lovers,
How did it all begin? In the early nineties, my wife and I were in Italy again.
It was around Easter one late afternoon, when the sun was already going down,
that we were caught in a heavy rainstorm.
The mud road which we were driving on transformed into marsh-like ground.
The wheels spun but the car didn’t move. We were stuck. I marched off to find help.
I could only move slowly because the clay earth stuck to my shoes.
That’s why I was relieved when, a few hundred metres later, I saw the lights of a house.
Antonio used his small tractor to pull our car out of the clay and into his farmyard.
We must been a sorry sight because we were forced to sit at a table outside under a shelter. In the end, Luisa, Antonio’s wife, brought us glasses and a jug of wine.
Later they even invited us to stay overnight. We accepted the offer gratefully.
The next morning the sun came out. Antonio and Luisa showed us a charming cottage situated nearby in the middle of a vineyard. No one was living in it and it was theirs.
We liked it immediately.
When we said goodbye, we took one of their kittens back with us. Four weeks later we returned and became their new tenants.
Thanks to our small holiday home I grew very fond of Italian country life.
I decided to offer my services to people who also wanted this kind of experience.
Since 1995 I have been arranging holiday villas in Tuscany and Umbria exactly suited to the needs of everyone who comes to me. I put my selection together personally. It is the result of many trips and it ranges from the romantic stone cottage in the Chianti area to the prestigious villa with private swimming pool.
I have personally visited and surveyed each villa that I present here.

My agency is not a big one. I have consciously decided to stay “small” because in my line of business quality can only be guaranteed if the selection remains manageable and the contact with the landlord is direct and not through various different people.
In the vacation villa business, as in many others, there has been a tendency of late for big companies to eat up the small ones. I’m totally convinced that this will in the end lead to higher rents for you, the guest.
One of my guiding principles is to offer a transparent, honest service.
Travel brochure gobbledygook is language I don’t use. Nor do I market things by blowing them up to be something they are not. My range of holiday homes conforms to the consumer-friendly guidelines of the Association of German Holiday Home Agencies (VDFA) of which I am a member. You can receive information from them about me. The lawyer of the association regularly checks my terms and conditions.
