This attractive, spacious and distinctive Tuscany villa, which has a small annexe, is situated above Greve in the middle of the green hills of Chianti Classico. La Pensata came into existence in the year 1000 AD. Originally a watchtower built during the battles between the republics of Florence and Siena, the building has been converted again and again and now takes the form of a country villa.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of this large Tuscan villa. Take in some sun, relaxing in a sunlounger, then freshen up in the well-kept swimming pool. It is easy to reach the capital of Tuscany, Florence, with its endless art treasures, as well as Siena. Villa Vignamaggio is nearby. As well as being the birthplace of Mona Lisa, who later became the subject of Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting, it is also a favourite vineyard among connaisseurs (wine Castello di Monna Lisa).
This vacation villa has respectfully been restored in order to retain its original charm. Its fixtures and fittings are top class. La Pensata is furnished in a dignified and tasteful way partly with antique furniture. It also has original beam ceilings and terracotta floors. The entrance is secured by a trellis gate (operated by remote control). A separate area on the edge of the property contains the home of the house’s faithful servant, Massimo. He makes sure that everything works to your satisfaction during your stay. He lives in a room built into the hillside, which can barely be seen from the guest area. Massimo has the utmost respect for your privacy, but is also willing, should you wish, to give recommendations for your exploration of the area nearby.
