How long has ‘RL-Italian-Rentals’ (RLIT) been arranging holiday homes in Italy? In 1995 RLIT began organising holiday homes for visitors to Italy who wanted to find suitable accommodation away from the usual sites of mass tourism.
Where is RLIT officially registered? The officially registered location of RLIT is in
Balanstr. 34 81669 Munich Germany
The company is registered as ‘Langemann Ferienhäuser’ and ‘RL-Italian-Rentals’ is its trade name.
Can RLIT send us a catalogue? No. Using the internet I can give you much more extensive and up-to-date information about my holiday homes. This is why I don’t provide a catalogue in print form. This option is also more environmentally-friendly as we avoid unnecessary consumption of paper and energy. All property descriptions can be printed from your computer.
Has RLIT visited all its holiday homes? Yes. RLIT has visited and survey all its holiday homes.
When is the best time of year to go to Italy? The climate in Italy is almost always mild. However in March and April and from October the weather is often changeable. It can be cold and rainy.
The most pleasant months are May and June. In May a fragrant sea of blossoms appears and the vegetation becomes a luscious green colour. The museums and church-es in Florence, Siena, Perugia and Orvieto are not usually crowded at this time (except during Whitsun).
At the height of summer the temperature rises to 35 - 40° C. In the towns it is almost unbearable.
In September the landscape takes on splendid autumnal colours. It is the time of the grape harvest. The mild days are ideal for long rambles.
How far in advance should we book our holiday home? Because Italy is such a popular place to visit, RLIT recommends that you book your holiday home as early as possible.
How many people are allowed to occupy the property? The holiday home is to be occupied only by the persons mentioned in the contract (booking confirmation). If more people are to be found occupying the property, RLIT has the right to demand an appropriate additional fee for the period of over-occupancy, irrespective of their right to cancel the contract. The extra persons must leave the holiday home immediately.
What is shortest possible rental period? The shortest possible stay in all holiday homes is 1 week.
Are the beginning and the end of the rental period always on a Saturday? Yes. The start and the end of rental of all holiday homes is always a Saturday. Outside high season it is sometimes possible to reach a different contractual agree-ment. After consulting RLIT it may be possible to arrange arrival for another day.
Is our payment protected against insolvency of the travel agent? Yes. No matter where you live, all bank transfers to pay rent are protected against insolvency of the travel agent.
How to book?
Step 1: Make sure that your enquiry is for the property you would like to rent. Before you ask RLIT about the availability of a holiday home, ensure that the property matches your tastes and requirements. Read the property description very carefully; it is there that you can find all the details that can be important for your decision.
Now use the availability form. Enter three properties - firstly your “favourite” and then two alternatives. Firstly RLIT will check the availability of your “favourite”. Should none of the properties be available, you will receive some suggested alternatives.
All holiday homes can be booked by the week from Saturday to another.
Step 2: RLIT reserves your “favourite” property. If your “favourite” property is available RLIT will give you the option of booking it within a maximum of three days (you will be informed of the exact deadline).
Step 3: YOU send your booking application. Fill out the booking form and send it online to RLIT (preferred option). Alternatively you can print it out, sign it and send it by fax. It is important to ensure that your booking reaches RLIT by the specified deadline, otherwise the reservation expires.
RLIT strongly recommends that you take out travel cancellation insurance.
Step 4: RLIT sends you the booking confirmation. As soon as RLIT has received your booking, you will receive the booking confirmation and the insurance voucher under the terms of § 651 k, BGB German Civil Code (GCC). The insurance voucher guarantees you that no matter where you live, the rent you pay is protected by travel agency insolvency. This means there is no possibility that you will lose your money.
Step 5: YOU pay the advance payment. As soon as you receive the booking confirmation and insolvency insurance certificate from RLIT, your 30% advance payment is due. Please transfer the sum promptly so that it is with us within 7 days. Should the rental period be less than 60 days after the date of booking, the entire sum has to be transferred within 7 days. You must ensure that all amounts are transferred without involving any bank charges for RLIT.
Step 6: YOU make the final payment. Your final payment must be received by RLIT at the very latest 60 daysbefore the start of the rental period. You will not receive a special reminder for this.
Step 7: RLIT sends you your travel documents. After making your complete payment you will receive your travel documents along with information about the area you are travelling to.
Step 8: YOU go there and enjoy your holiday. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact RLIT.
What happens if we arrive at the holiday home outside the given time of arrival? Unless you come to some other arrangement with RLIT, you will be expected at your holiday home on a Saturday. The arrival and departure times are to be found in your travel documents. If you arrive late, you forfeit your right to the key and the property. You will not be reimbursed for any hotel costs arising from your late arrival.
Should a later arrival be foreseen, please get in touch with your landlord or RLIT immediately (you can find the number with the directions). The landlord may be willing to hand over the keys at a later time. (AGB, 6.6)
Are bedclothes and towels provided by the landlord? In most holiday homes bed linen and towels are included in the price. Some landlords provide these only on request and for a small charge. In some holiday homes you always have to provide your own (see property description).
If the landlord provides bed linen and towels it is usual for them to be changed once a week. You must bring your own pool towels (any exceptions are contained in the property descriptions). Dishtowels are not provided.
Is there an extra bed? Just ask RLIT.
Is there a cot? Just ask RLIT.
Is there a coffee machine? Most kitchens have the typical native ‘moka express’ stovetop coffee makers (see property description).
Does the holiday home have heating? The heating period stipulated by the Italian government begins on the 1st November and ends on the 31st March. Outside this period there is, officially, no heating. Plenty of blankets are available and in many houses there are fireplaces. In most holiday homes the charges for heating vary according to use (see property description).
